Basketball Recap: Chesterfield Takes a Loss

Chesterfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cheraw Braves. The Golden Rams were probably out for revenge after losing 52-47 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cheraw's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Strong led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Elijah McClain was another key player, going 6 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Chesterfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cheraw, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Chesterfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-50 win against North Central on the 17th. As for Cheraw, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-41 defeat against Georgetown on the 20th.
