Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. Salem Quakers

Springfield is 0-4 against Salem since February of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Springfield Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Salem Quakers at 7:00 p.m.

Springfield is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Mineral Ridge. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly five points.

Meanwhile, Salem entered their tilt with Minerva on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 41-37 W over the Lions.

Springfield's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-7. As for Salem, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Springfield might still be hurting after the 56-33 defeat they got from Salem in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Springfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
