Football Recap: Desert Oasis Takes Down Ranked Faith Lutheran + How To Watch

Desert Oasis faced Faith Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Diamondbacks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders, sneaking past 30-27. The victory was nothing new for the Diamondbacks as they're now sitting on three straight.

A big part of Desert Oasis' win came down to the chemistry between VIncent Hales and his top target Anthony Sarracino. Hales threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt while Sarracino picked up 115 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Sarracino has become a key player for Desert Oasis: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Desert Oasis didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Faith Lutheran to a completion percentage of just 48%. The Diamondbacks weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.2%.

Faith Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Justin Robbins, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Gavin Folino was another key player, gaining 105 total yards and a touchdown.

Desert Oasis' record is now 4-2. As for Faith Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Desert Oasis and Faith Lutheran will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the field. The Crusaders will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Diamondbacks will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
