Softball Recap: Bradford Comes Up Short

Bradford fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Ansonia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 9-7. If the Railroaders were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lilly Canan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Hayven Evans was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs.

Bradford now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Ansonia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bradford will face off against rival Tri-County North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ansonia is set to challenge their familiar foe Twin Valley South at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and the Panthers a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.
