Basketball Recap: Riah Byrd's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marshall County over Giles County

Marshall County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. The match between them and the Giles County Bobcats didn't end well, with the Marshall County Tigers falling 46-29. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 51-48.

Marshall County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Riah Byrd, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Steely, who scored 11 points.

Marshall County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Giles County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall County has already played their next contest (against Central Magnet), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Giles County has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Franklin County.
