Softball Recap: East Bay Indians vs. Sickles Gryphons

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Durant, East Bay was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Sickles Gryphons by a score of 6-1. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gryphons, too.

Jensen Nelson made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Nelson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamiira Austin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Briel, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
