Meridian had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Kettle Run on Friday. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Cougars an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Meridian, who have now won five games by six goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Kettle Run from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal.

Meridian pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 45 goals over those five matches. As for Kettle Run, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4-2.
