Preview: Liberty Magnet Patriots vs. Central Wildcats
The Liberty Magnet Patriots will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Central Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Liberty Magnet is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Liberty Magnet had to suffer through a rough 54-16 loss at the hands of Zachary. Liberty Magnet was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-8.
Despite the loss, Liberty Magnet got a solid performance out of Jermiah Lutcher, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Lutcher's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Meanwhile, Central can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Woodlawn-B.R. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Woodlawn-B.R. is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Liberty Magnet's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Liberty Magnet came up short against Central when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 34-27. Will Liberty Magnet have more luck at home instead of on the road?
