Volleyball Recap: Lakota West Victorious

Lakota West lost to Talawanda back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Firebirds narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Brave 3-2.

Lakota West wouldn't go down easily and took Talawanda into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 19-25, 25-7, 17-15.

Adelyn Twyman paced Lakota West's offense, picking up 11 kills. Twyman got some help from Allie Steckman and her 18 assists. Twyman also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Kennedy, racking up four apiece.

Lakota West's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Talawanda, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

Coming up, Lakota West will square off against Walnut Hills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Talawanda, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Bellbrook on the 16th.
