Baseball Recap: Lakeside Finds Home Field Redemption Against Almira-Coulee-Hartline

There's no place like home for Lakeside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024 (when they won 14-4).

Not much got past Cy Reeves, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Almira-Coulee-Hartline off the board. Reeves also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lakeside is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kannon Almond, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Nicholas Hernandez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run.

Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Almira-Coulee-Hartline, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Coming up, Lakeside will square off against Riverside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Almira-Coulee-Hartline, they will challenge Mary Walker at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
