Baseball Game Preview: Lord Botetourt Cavaliers vs. Pulaski County Cougars

Lord Botetourt and Pulaski County are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cavaliers are taking a road trip to face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lord Botetourt made up a huge gap compared to their last game against William Byrd, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Terriers with a sharp 13-3 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Noah Donaho was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-4. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jairdan Pennix, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Lord Botetourt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Pulaski County got the win against Patrick Henry on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-1.

Lord Botetourt's record now sits at 6-3. As for Pulaski County, their record is now an identical 6-3.

Lord Botetourt beat Pulaski County 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
