Basketball Recap: Clearbrook-Gonvick Beats Cass Lake-Bena for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearbrook-Gonvick). They walked away with a 78-67 victory over the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers on Tuesday. While the Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-26), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Cass Lake-Bena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearbrook-Gonvick will take on Red Lake County Central in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cass Lake-Bena and Blackduck will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Cass Lake-Bena is facing Blackduck at the right time seeing as Blackduck is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
