Volleyball Recap: University Bulldogs vs. Montrose Red Hawks
After flying high against Platte Valley on Tuesday, University came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Montrose Red Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Hawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
University was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Montrose work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 21-25, 19-25, 25-17, 15-13.
Delaney Lauer paced University's offense, picking up 21 kills. Lauer got some help from Kenley Rudiger and her 52 assists. Finally, Kaydence Lucero kept University's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.
Amaya Potter was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had nine digs and five assists.
