Football Game Preview: Spanaway Lake Sentinels vs. Graham-Kapowsin Eagles + Official Tickets

The Spanaway Lake Sentinels will square off against the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Spanaway Lake has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Graham-Kapowsin will arrive with seven straight victories.

Spanaway Lake had taken Bonney Lake down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Sentinels took a 15-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Spanaway Lake's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Martin, who picked up 126 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Jericho Martin, who threw for 202 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Graham-Kapowsin didn't have too much trouble with Olympia on Friday as they won 34-20. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Bears are ranked 61st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spanaway Lake better keep an eye on Blake Pearson. He was instrumental in Graham-Kapowsin's win, rushing for 170 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. The dominant performance also gave Pearson a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another signal caller making a difference was Kolton Wadley, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes.

Graham-Kapowsin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Graham-Kapowsin's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Spanaway Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
