Softball Recap: North Central Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

North Central won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

The result came thanks to Mackenzie Melton's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lillian Hope Alexandria Bell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

North Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Central will face off against Chesterfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Central, they will take on Buford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
