Basketball Recap: Piute's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Piute played in conference for the first time on Thursday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They enjoyed a cozy 65-51 victory over the Bryce Valley Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Thunderbirds: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 44-42 defeat.

Piute moved to 8-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bryce Valley, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Piute will take on Escalante at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bryce Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Panguitch at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
