Basketball Game Preview: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Arrowhead Christian Eagles

Ontario Christian and Arrowhead Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Ontario Christian Knights will host the Arrowhead Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ontario Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Arrowhead Christian likes a good challenge.

Ontario Christian saw some tournament action on Monday. They pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over Valley Christian.

Ontario Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Jones, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Ontario Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Marshall, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Ontario Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Arrowhead Christian came up short against Hillcrest on Monday and fell 66-53. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ontario Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Arrowhead Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Ontario Christian came up short against Arrowhead Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 70-60. Thankfully for Ontario Christian, Clayton Mpiana (who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
