Wakefield Memorial has gone a perfect 10-0 against Wilmington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wakefield Memorial has six straight victories, Wilmington has 22 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Wednesday, Wakefield Memorial made easy work of Watertown and carried off a 3-0 win.

While Wakefield Memorial won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-7, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Allison Cook, who had 18 assists and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Cook wasn't the only good servers: Wakefield Memorial was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Wilmington came up short against Burlington on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-8, 25-9.

Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Wakefield Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Wakefield Memorial took their win against Wilmington in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
