While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 835th in California, while the Highlanders are ranked 54th in Nevada).
Modoc now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Portola, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
