MAIS AAA II District 1 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Heritage Academy moved up to 119 from 161 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in MAIS AAA II District 1. The Patriots climbed the ranks as a result of a 41-35 win over the Patriots.
Magnolia Heights extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lee Academy, 35-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Chiefs.
Washington's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Generals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Blake Rounsavall has thrown for 323 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Chase Palasini has four catches for 105 yards. Andrew Steinle leads the league in rushing with 390 yards.
A big matchup in MAIS AAA II District 1 this week will be when Magnolia Heights takes on Heritage Academy. At the moment, Cliff Young's team is in first, while Barrett Donahoe's team is in fourth.
The Chiefs took down the Colts 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
