Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Freeman Falcons

The Elmwood-Murdock Knights had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over Freeman. That's another feather in the cap for Elmwood-Murdock, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Tatum Backemeyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Delaney "laney" Frahm was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Elmwood-Murdock pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Freeman, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.

Elmwood-Murdock will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmyra will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Freeman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sterling on February 6th.
