Drew Gartman's Big Game Leads Valley View over Harding Academy

Starting off the list is Valley View's Drew Gartman, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Gartman rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

The victory for Valley View keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Gartman and Valley View will face off against Wynne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Harrell As Nettleton Won 42-20

Xavier Harrell was instrumental in extending Nettleton's winning streak to three on Friday. Brookland had no answer to Harrell as he rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Harrell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.

For the season, Harrell has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 127.3 rushing yards per game.

A Season-Best Effort from Cole Bentz Leads Batesville over Paragould

On Friday, Batesville got the W thanks in part to Cole Bentz playing the best football he has all season. Bentz threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 49 yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The victory snapped Batesville's winning streak at seven games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record. Bentz and Batesville will face off against Harding Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Nettleton got the W thanks in part to Isaac Black playing the best football he has all season. Black made five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and snagged two interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

This year, Myles has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 45.2 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 10.4 receiving yards per game.
