 The Seaside Seagulls waltzed into their game  on Tuesday with eight straight wins  but they left with nine. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a  51-48  victory over Scappoose. Given Seaside's advantage  in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings  (they are ranked 21st, while Scappoose is ranked 95th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Scappoose lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Quinton Olson, who  scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was  Colton Sprenger, who  scored five points along with four  steals.
 Scappoose  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only  an  offensive rebound. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Seaside has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record  this season. As for Scappoose, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Tillamook the next time they take the court. Seaside will  host Tillamook at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday, while Scappoose will  host them  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
