Softball Recap: Skyview Hawks vs. Vallivue Falcons
Skyview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vallivue Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 last Wednesday.
Paisley Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Makayla Lytle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Skyview's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Vallivue, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyview will take on Bishop Kelly at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Vallivue, they will challenge Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
