Softball Game Preview: Polk County Wildcats vs. Red Bank Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Polk County Wildcats duke it out with Red Bank Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Polk County has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Polk County is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against McMinn Central, falling 12-6.

Zoie Hatcher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Red Bank lost 14-6 to Notre Dame on Monday.

Red Bank's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Polk County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Polk County might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Red Bank when the teams last played back in March of 2018. Can Polk County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
