Baseball Recap: Making Waves Academy Takes a Loss

Making Waves Academy extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-11. They came up short against the Brave Christian Lions, falling 16-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent loss being a 19-0 defeat on Thursday.

As for Brave Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0-1. Considering they have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Brave Christian's part, Legend Dorham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave Dorham a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Jadon Hart was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noa Capistrant, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Making Waves Academy will host Bentley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Marlins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phoenix have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Brave Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cornerstone Christian at 4:00 p.m.
