The Wekiva Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Timber Creek Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wekiva is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat West Orange 69-30.

Wekiva got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makayla Bell out in front who posted ten points in addition to five assists and three blocks. Bell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Tiana Washington was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds.
Wekiva smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Timber Creek came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 41-33 victory over the Hawks. The 41-point effort marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Timber Creek's win came from a few key players Wekiva will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Samantha Tucker, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Perez, who had 11 points.
Wekiva's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14. As for Timber Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wekiva has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Timber Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Wekiva against Timber Creek in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, as the team secured a 53-26 victory. In that contest, Wekiva amassed a halftime lead of 36-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
