Swanton has won three straight games at home, while Edgerton has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. Swanton will host Edgerton at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Swanton's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Toledo Christian by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Beyla Remer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lacey Shinaver, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kendall Baumbarger, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Edgerton got the win against Tinora on Thursday by a conclusive 9-2.
Corinne Cape spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Edgerton let Whitney Wright and Olivia Wallace run wild. Wright got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while Wallace went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Casey Everetts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Edgerton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tinora only posted an OBP of .276.
Swanton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Edgerton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Swanton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Edgerton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Swanton suffered a grim 16-7 defeat to Edgerton when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Swanton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
