Softball Recap: Westview Comes Up Short

Westview saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wheeler Bearcats.

Briana Kaufman led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gilbert, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Westview has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Wheeler, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Westview has already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against Elkhart Christian Academy on the 19th. As for Wheeler, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-6 victory against North Judson-San Pierre on the 20th.
