Softball Recap: Sonoraville Extends Winning Streak to 12

Sonoraville had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Murray County Indians as they made off with an 8-0 win. Give the Phoenix's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Lila Mullinax got the start for Sonoraville and what a start it was: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Mullinax has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sonoraville let Annslee DeFoor and Lakelin Hall run wild. DeFoor went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Hall went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Hall has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marley Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Sonoraville's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Murray County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Sonoraville has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Union County on the 23rd. As for Murray County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Ringgold on the 22nd.
