Volleyball Recap: Pittsburg Comes Up Short

Pittsburg lost against Sulphur Springs back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-16.

Sulphur Springs found their leader in sophomore Peyton Taylor, who had 12 digs and four aces. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Pittsburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Sulphur Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pittsburg is set to challenge their familiar foe Pleasant Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sulphur Springs will square off against rival Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
