Recap: Lincoln Mustangs vs. Balboa Buccaneers
The Lincoln Mustangs had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Balboa, posting a 35-0 win on the road. Lincoln might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matches by 25 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamelle Newman, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Newman's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. Kevin Zhao also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.
The win was the eighth in a row for Lincoln, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.6 points per game. As for Balboa, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against Strathmore at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Strathmore's defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so Lincoln's offense will have their work cut out for Lincoln. Balboa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
