Basketball Recap: Hallandale Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hallandale can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 50-16 loss at the hands of the North Miami Beach Chargers. While losing is never fun, Hallandale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while North Miami Beach is ranked 210th).

It was another big night for Serena Volcy, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 steals for North Miami Beach. Those 12 steals gave Volcy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Yoshaney Cayaso, who posted six points and three steals.

Hallandale's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for North Miami Beach, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Hallandale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Miami Beach, they will challenge Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pine Crest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
