Volleyball Recap: Giltner Comes Up Short

Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Lake Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Thursday.

Peyton Schutt paced Giltner's offense, picking up ten kills. Schutt got some help from Avery Reeson and her 17 assists.

Sophie Schmidt had a dynamite game For Silver Lake., getting 32 digs and one assist. Schmidt is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 21 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Giltner's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Silver Lake, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Giltner has already played their next match (against Red Cloud), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Silver Lake, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Shelton on the 18th.
