Despite the defeat, Mt. Vernon saw an underclassman step up: Julien Smith scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Davis, who scored eight points.

It was another big night for Julius Gizzi, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for New Palestine.
