Basketball Recap: Somerset College Prep Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Avon Park last Thursday, Somerset College Prep Academy came back down to earth. The Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans were dealt an 83-23 defeat at the hands of the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds on Saturday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Greyhounds recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Somerset College Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Khloe Rodgers posted 12 points and three steals. Rodgers is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Lincoln Park Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Juliana Ball led the charge by going 9 of 13 to rack up 23 points and three steals. What's more, Ball also posted a 69% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Laylah Dawkins was another key player, as she made all 6 shots she took for 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Somerset College Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lincoln Park Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

As of now, neither Somerset College Prep Academy nor Lincoln Park Academy have any future games scheduled.
