Baseball Game Preview: Marcos de Niza Padres vs. Moon Valley Rockets

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Marcos de Niza's offense. They came up short against Arcadia on Wednesday, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Moon Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Goldwater on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-2 win. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rockets yet this season.

Crystian Norstrom made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, James Lee was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Andrew Mullavey was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Moon Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Marcos de Niza's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Moon Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.
