Soccer Recap: Piedmont Victorious

Piedmont kept a clean sheet against Castro Valley on Tuesday. They beat the Castro Valley Trojans by a goal, winning 1-0. That's more bragging rights for the Highlanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Logan Faucher, who's now up to three this season.

Piedmont's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5-4. As for Castro Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6-1.

Piedmont and Castro Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Piedmont (ranked 646th) will meet Bishop O'Dowd (ranked 277th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Castro Valley will take on Berkeley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 622 places (687 vs. 65).
