Basketball Game Preview: Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns vs. Shepherd Pirates

The Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns will venture away from home to square off against the Shepherd Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hamshire-Fannett's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Last Monday, Hamshire-Fannett strolled past Hardin-Jefferson with points to spare, taking the game 78-59.

Meanwhile, Shepherd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Tarkington and fell 74-36.

Hamshire-Fannett's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-13. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Shepherd, their loss dropped their record down to 16-14.

Hamshire-Fannett came out on top in a nail-biter against Shepherd in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 47-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamshire-Fannett since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
