Softball Game Preview: Cattaraugus-Little Valley Timberwolves vs. Falconer Golden Falcons

The Cattaraugus-Little Valley Timberwolves will challenge the Falconer Golden Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Falconer took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cattaraugus-Little Valley, who comes in off a win.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pine Valley Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Timberwolves blew past the Panthers 12-4 on Friday. The Timberwolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Madison Rogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Rogan was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carly Preston, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kadie Benzel, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Falconer came up short against Franklinville on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The loss was the Golden Falcons' first of the season.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Falconer, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1-1.
