Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Waterloo's Fifth in Last Six Outings

If Gibault Catholic wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Waterloo, they should've done a better job of containing Alex Stell. The Waterloo Bulldogs put the hurt on the Gibault Catholic Hawks with a sharp 66-45 victory on Monday thanks in part to Stell, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Waterloo is 20-6 when Stell posts eight or more boards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Griffin Stork, who posted two points and six assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Waterloo has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points over those games. As for Gibault Catholic, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-21.
