Softball Recap: Downingtown East Victorious

Downingtown East lost to Bishop Shanahan back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cougars came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

The team relied heavily on Madison Baroni, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenkins Olivia, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Downingtown East's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Bishop Shanahan, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Downingtown East will face off against Coatesville at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The Red Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop Shanahan, they will challenge Henderson at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
