Football Recap: Fayette Ware Comes Up Short

After soaring to 51 points the game before, Fayette Ware was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kirby Cougars. The Wildcats have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Justin Price threw for 150 yards and one TD on only 12 passes. Layquan Armour was his top target, picking up 129 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Braylon Walker rushed for 45 yards and one score.

Fayette Ware now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Kirby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayette Ware will head out to face off against Craigmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will be up against the Chiefs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kirby, they will venture away from home to square off against Haywood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Tomcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
