Basketball Recap: Normandy Takes a Loss

Normandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 56-42 to the Lorain Titans. The game marked the Invaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Samone Whitt was nothing short of spectacular for Lorain: she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 23 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Whitt a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Brajhia Phillips, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Normandy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lorain, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Normandy will head out to challenge Madison at 5:15 p.m. on December 27th. Madison will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Normandy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lorain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-35 win against Garfield Heights on the 21st.
