Basketball Recap: Jefferson Davis Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

If South Aiken Baptist Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Jefferson Davis Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Colson Loadholt. The Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders really took it to the South Aiken Baptist Christian CRUSADERS for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-35 win thanks in part to Loadholt, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 18 rebounds, and ten assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Another player making a difference was Payton Payne, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, South Aiken Baptist Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Dennis posted 17 points. The matchup was Dennis' third in a row with at least ten points.

Jefferson Davis Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for South Aiken Baptist Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Jefferson Davis Academy will take on Sandhills at 7:04 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson Davis Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season. As for South Aiken Baptist Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against King Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
