Baseball Recap: Mount View's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mount View extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 8-5-1 in the process. They never let the River View Raiders get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Golden Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Mount View got a massive performance out of Kyrece Hughes, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Hughes has become a key player for the Golden Knights: the team is 6-2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Rose, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

As for River View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. The game marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On River View's side, Dillon Marek was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, Marek gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

Mount View will have a chance to go back-to-back against River View: the pair will be back at it again later today.
