Baseball Recap: Timnath Sets Scoring Season-High Against Thompson Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timnath). They walked away with a 20-15 win over the Thompson Valley Eagles on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cubs.

Brek Ader was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Caden Poynter was another key player, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Timnath kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Timnath pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Thompson Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Timnath will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
