            Football Recap: Basha Bears vs. Hamilton Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            
After flying high against Salpointe Catholic  last Friday, Basha came back down to earth. The  game between the Bears and the Hamilton Huskies didn't end well, with the Bears falling  28-12. The Bears were red-hot offensively heading into the  matchup (they scored no less than 31  points in the five  contests prior), but the Huskies' defense proved too tough.
 Brodie Vehrs threw for 118 yards  while completing 73.3% of his passes.   Kash Brock was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards.  On the ground,  Noah Roberts rushed for 62 yards.
 A big part of Hamilton's  win came down to the chemistry between  Jax Sculley and his top target  Roye Oliver III. Sculley threw for 287 yards and three  TDs while completing 75% of his passes while  Oliver III picked up 210 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. Oliver III's longest reception was for an incredible 90 yards.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Basha  fell to 7-1. As for Hamilton, the  victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
 Basha and Hamilton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps National Rankings. The Bears will  take on  Mesa  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday with a big rank  advantage  (2 vs. 25). Meanwhile,  Hamilton (ranked first) will meet Cesar Chavez (ranked 109th)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
