Baseball Recap: Garfield-Palouse Vikings vs. Dayton Bulldogs
Garfield-Palouse managed to slip by Dayton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.
Cooper Wells was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Wells was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Wells wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brody Pfaff, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Garfield-Palouse's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7-1. As for Dayton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.
