Preview: Cherokee Indians vs. Richland Springs Coyotes
Cherokee has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Richland Springs Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Back in December of 2023, Cherokee strolled past Bangs with points to spare, taking the game 38-24.
Meanwhile, Richland Springs entered their tilt with Brookesmith with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Richland Springs blew past Brookesmith 74-46 on the road. Richland Springs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cherokee's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Richland Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Cherokee couldn't quite finish off Richland Springs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 45-43. Can Cherokee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
